Greetings, Momentum family!
I wanted to keep you all in the loop as things appear to be changing daily and weekly with this pandemic. As always, I would encourage you to visit the WHO and CDC websites for general information on COVID-19.
Next Thursday, April 9, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. we will hold our very first virtual practice session, being led by Tanner Morris on Gold Medal Squared. Momentum Parents and Players are invited to attend this session. Instructions to join were in an email sent to all of you on April 1. If you did not receive this email, please reach out to a director for log in information.
We ask that you mute your phones/computers when dialing in to avoid background noise.
Obviously this situation is changing on a day-to-day basis, but we wanted to give you a framework for our game plan moving forward. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let us know!
Momentum Family --
In light of the email from the Great Lakes Region I have pasted below, and following the guidance of USA Volleyball, we will be canceling practice through April.
We continue and will adhere to the guidance provided to us by the Great Lakes Region and USA Volleyball. Currently, we play to re-start all seasons in May.
Please stay safe!
Good Morning Great Lakes Region Club Directors,
The safety and well-being of our athletes, spectators, officials and staff is always our top priority.
USA Volleyball is recommending the postponement or cancellation of all USAV sanctioned events through March 22nd, therefore, we will follow that recommendation and cancel all Great Lakes Region sanctioned competition from today through March 22nd. This will include the Windy City Power League weekends of March 14th & 15th and March 21st & 22nd. Possible make up dates are being discussed by the Power League Directors, Assignors and Sites.
Practices are not considered sanctioned events., Decisions regarding practices should be made at the club level.
We are in close contact with our partners in the City of Chicago, using updates and information from the City's Department of Public Health, the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and USA Volleyball to help us plan and execute an event that everyone can enjoy safely.
Future Windy City Power League dates and the status of the adidas Windy City National Qualifier will follow the recommendations of the authorities named above.
It is our commitment to keep all participants informed. We will continue to provide updates as we get closer to the April 10th weekend.

Club Momentum is proud to partner with Optimal Fitness as the preferred training and plyometric program.
Optimal Fitness is an athletic training facility located in Wilmette, Illinois. Optimal Fitness and Club Momentum Volleyball are working together to develop a Volleyball Performance program specifically designed to help athletes jump higher, react quicker, improve athletic coordination, and increase overall body strength.
Most of the drills we put our athletes through will simulate movements that take place during practice and games, making their reaction times naturally quicker. Some of the equipment we use to help with these simulations and drills are agility rings, agility ladders, agility dots, cones, hurdles, resistance bands, and other exercise equipment.
All of the exercises we do is in a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) format. We stick to this format because it is proven to be the fastest way to build the athletes endurance. Volleyball specifically is a sport where bursts of energy is exerted over short periods of time. HIIT training prepares you for exactly that!
For dates and times of our upcoming Volleyball Performance Programs please visit the website: opfit.net and click twice on the tab at the top of the page that says OPFIT PERFORMANCE PROGRAMS.
Optimal Fitness is excited to be a part of Club Momentum and looks forward to helping their athletes achieve greatness.
